Size & Weight Limits.

The maximum dimensions of a rectangular item are 610mm x 460mm x 460mm, whilst the maximum length of a rolled item is 900mm.

If you’re sending rolled items please also note that the length plus twice the diameter of your item must not exceed 1040mm

Where we deliver.

Special Delivery 9.00am guarantees delivery by 9.00am of the next working day to 99% of the country. This includes Northern Ireland.

Our delivery guarantee does not cover certain places, such as Guernsey, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man and some remote parts of Scotland. The following tables detail the postcodes where we cannot confirm your item will arrive by 9.00am the next working day, with full details on the timeframe in which we do guarantee delivery.

9.00 am Guarantee

We guarantee we’ll deliver your Special Delivery 9.00am item to the given address before 9.00am the next working day and we’ll refund your money if we don’t deliver it in time.

This guarantee does not apply if:

  • we were unable to deliver the item because we could not find someone to sign for your item and have to leave a ‘We’re holding an item of mail for you’ card at the address
  •  the delivery address is in the small area of the UK where we do not guarantee next day delivery – learn more about where we deliver

Our working days are Monday to Friday and do not include Sundays, bank holidays or public holidays.

Saturday Guarantee

Take advantage of Guaranteed Saturday Delivery. An add-on Special Delivery service that allows you to guarantee next day delivery for the urgent items you posted on Friday. Guaranteed Saturday Delivery ensures that your item is delivered to the recipient by 1pm on Saturday, giving you the peace of mind needed to enjoy your well deserved weekend. In the unlikely event that your item is not delivered on time, we’ll refund your money.

Customers posting their items at Post Office outlets will pay an extra £2 charge per item to use this service.

Compensation

Please keep your proof of purchase receipt.

If the item you are sending by Special Delivery 9.00am or Special Delivery next day, has a financial value more than £500 you should buy additional compensation cover in the unlikely event that it is lost, stolen or damaged while it is with us.

Compensation claims for late delivery must be made in writing within 14 days of posting and must include the receipt for purchase. 

Compensation claims for loss or damage must be made in writing within 12 months of posting and must include the receipt for purchase.

Packaging & Posting

When you’re sending items through the post it’s important to wrap and pack them well to ensure they arrive securely and safely. Clearly addressing the item and using the right Postcode will also help us deliver it faster and more accurately. Here are a few tips to help you:

  • Use padded envelopes or boxes to protect contents
  • Use packing material to fill space inside your package and protect it whilst in transit.
  • Seal the package securely along all edges and openings
  • Check the Postcode is correct – you can use our Postcode Finder
  • Write the address clearly and leave space for postage
  • Include a return address and “FRAGILE” if appropriate

Special Delivery Packaging

Plastic envelopes are available for free at all Jersey Post Sub Post Offices.  Just add the appropriate postage for the weight of the item.

For customers posting over 10,000 items per year we can tailor your envelopes to suit your individual business needs.  For example, we can preprint your return address and your company logo on the envelope.  This service is available for free.  Please contact our Premium Services Team on 616530 for further information.
